Last week I visited the Eden Project with my wife. The Eden Project is a remarkable place and although being close by, it is the first time I have visited it in summer.

This is just over the hill from Enigin’s HQ, in fact Enigin Distributor’s on the residential training course use to have Wednesday afternoon off to visit this world renowned attraction.

CRC Scheme Confusions

posted by enigin in energy saving news

A while back Tony Grayling in The Guardian wrote the following piece on Q & As on the UKs CRC Scheme, it is excellent and I would like to share it with you:

At Enigin we help business become energy efficient and certainly help UK businesses comply with this new regulations.

What is the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme?

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is a new, mandatory, energy-saving and carbon emissions-reduction scheme for the UK. It will see big companies compete against one another to cut their energy bills fastest, in a bid to rank highest in a league table where the leaders will be financially rewarded.

Laughs Instead of Screams for Enigin

I came in on my wife and son the other day watching the end of a family favourite film, Monsters Inc.

As I had not been watching the film from the beginning I came at the story form a  different angle and saw something new in its message

If you don’t know this amazing animation from Pixar then let me layout the story, very briefly.

The world that these creatures, monsters, live in looks just like ours but their energy comes from screams, hence the energy company, Monsters Inc., collects screams from young children in our world by emerging from children’s closets to collect the required scream in a can and returning to their world with this vitasl resource (you can guess what attracted my interest). Enigin Advance

posted by enigin in work

IT is pleasing to see constant advance, a moving forward rather than a resting on laurels.

That is the case with Enigin PLC – the company doesn’t stay still, despite success with what they have already working and in place they never stop with Research and Development and improvement in all the services they offer.

Whether it is the constant work being done to provide better feedback and functions for the real-time energy monitor Eniscope or improving the range of energy saving products, or even just improvements in training and resources for Enigin Distributors worldwide to be able to offer their customers the best they can offer in energy saving.

Spring and Summer the Time for Growth

posted by enigin in personal

AT Enigin we are concerned with growth, always growing as a company always expanding our knowledge and solutions to help organisations to manage and save energy but at home things are not that different at this time of year!

At home my concern is not business growth or energy saving advancement but the growth in the garden. Do not misunderstand me – I am no gardener. I love a beautiful garden, to sit in it and enjoy the labours to produce it, the labour of others adds to the delight for me.

Energy Saving Light Entertainment no Joke for Cable TV

By Steve Hill

I have a Virgin Media cable television supply into my bedroom and in the past couple of months it started acting up! Suddenly the channels would change by themselves or the remote seemed to stop working altogether, the next minute everything would be fine, then the set top box would switch off!

I was about to call Virgin Media when I read this article by Graham Snowdon in The Guardian:

Enigin – it is so important!

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

Family! How important that is. It really should be your whole life, they are there for you, mean so much to you, you must always put them first. Most importantly, your children. How can you possibly not!

Despite a very good night sleep, Seth, my gorgeous son was not happy again this morning. Those teeth really must be painful. With only a short nap this morning I don’t think he has ever been so miserable. Very clingy and sad, once again, poor thing. Can only imagine how painful and uncomfortable it must be! Though these teething powders from the Chemist work wonders in soothing and calming him. If you’ve not tried them – you must! Natural and homoeopathic they are just brilliant.

Enigin Products A Must!

Keeping myself abreast of the latest news regarding progress in  environmentally-friendly initiatives/behaviour, I was pleased to  hear that the UK Portsmouth City Council’s civic offices became  equipped with energy saving lighting sensors earlier this year.

It could be a ricochet effect following last week’s EU legislation  implementation which requires energy saving measures to be applied  to all buildings constructed after 2020. In any case, it’s definitely a  commendable initiative!

These sensors are able to reduce carbon emissions by up to 324  tonnes/year and will save the council over £33,000 on energy bills!

This was decided upon because the council had set themselves a  target to reach – they wanted to cut their CO2 emissions by 30%  over the next 5 years.

Apparently, they also plan to install automatic metering tools in a  number of their buildings, to save about 5% of their energy  consumption/year.

I researched about meters and found a company, Enigin, that offers  one. They call it the ‘Eniscope‘ and it’s used to measure how much  energy a business is consuming (with lighting or aircon for  instance), and identify where improvements can be made (where energy is being wasted by inefficient appliances).

With that information, Enigin are able to evaluate how to reduce a  company’s energy costs and consumption and upgrade their equipment  with energy efficient products to eliminate wastage and reduce carbon emissions.

Saving energy and money is compatible if more businesses use energy  efficient alternatives, via companies like Enigin for example. It  provides a valuable contribution towards the conservation of the  planet, and clearly, it also saves people a lot of money. No one  can really afford to disregard the environment, everyone has a part to play and there are products that exist out there to help us be  proactive.
